What to Expect
Below are a few of the components that are needed to promote health. I will be your guide to show you how to bring attention to these components with ease so that you can create shifts in your body, mind and spirit.
Knowledge
Education is foundational to understanding the interactions of your nervous system, immune system and psychological processes of your mind.
Awareness
To heal, it’s all about building awareness of your unique system and how it moves through your experiences day-to-day and minute-to-minute. When we become aware we realize we have a choice and a course correction may be possible.
To cultivate this awareness, most mind-body practices are self-directive, meaning you can learn to do them on your own. It is incredibly empowering to know that you can effect lasting change in your physiological and psychological health!
Compassion and Acceptance
Looking at oneself can be scary because we all can be our worst critics. This attitude towards oneself can have many layers when we have chronic pain or illness. In order to heal, it is necessary to build compassion towards yourself, your experience and others. Instead of pushing and being hard on yourself, cultivating a gentle almost tender approach to the mind and body will bring your nervous system into more of a safe state, a healing state.
Belief
“Our beliefs control our bodies, our minds, and thus our lives” – Bruce Lipton.
This is where it all comes together. Addressing negative core beliefs and patterns with compassion and curiosity is necessary to healing. It is also incredibly difficult as our brain and body have used these strategies in the past to keep us safe. But they are no longer serving us anymore. This is where courage and the capacity to choose something different becomes centre to your healing journey. When we have capacity from enough safety and ongoing support, we can make a choice towards healthy beliefs, behaviors and relationships, ones that align with our truest self. When we believe in ourselves and have faith in our choices, those choices become a reality.
